Introduction

Creating Your First Algo

Welcome to Algo Pilot! We’re glad you’ve decided to take the first step to automate your trading experience. Whether you’re a seasoned algo trader or a beginner, our mission is to make algo trading as simple as possible. We’ve condensed everything complicated about algo trading into a very simple interface. Let’s get started.

We’ve divided the algo building process into three parts, selecting assets, building rules, and settings.

Selecting Assets

Assets are simply the things you want to trade. These can include stocks or cryptocurrencies, or both!

Building Rules

Rules are what your algo uses to make decisions. For example, maybe you want to buy Apple when the RSI is < 30 and the time is < 12:00pm while the price is below the 20 SMA. Or maybe you want to sell BTC/USD when MACD crosses bearish. The customization is endless and entirely up to you.

Settings

Settings tell your algo how it should run.

Timeframe

Your algo timeframe controls when your algo is executed. Options include: Minute, 5-Minute, 10-Minute, 15-Minute, 30-Minute, Hourly, and Daily.

Investment Amount

Your investment amount controls how much money is invested in each trade. The value can either be in dollars or percentage of available cash.

FAQ

How many assets can I add?

The Standard plan can add up to 10 assets per algo, while the Ultimate plan can add up to 100 assets per algo.

Can I mix different asset classes together?

Yes, a single algo can trade multiple asset classes. But the assets are bound to their respective trading schedule. For example, cryptocurrencies will be evaluated 24/7 whereas stocks are only evaluated during normal trading hours.

Can I go short?

No, you can only go long at this time.

Does the algo buy fractional shares?

Only when purchasing cryptocurrencies. When purchasing equities, the algo will buy as many full shares as possible, up to the investment amount.
