Now that you’ve created your first algo and you’ve backtested it to make sure it performs the way you like, it’s time to go live.
Going live is as simple as connecting your brokerage and deploying your algo to a specific account with your brokerage.
Head to your account brokerages. Click connect next to your corresponding brokerage. In most cases, Algo Pilot can link to your brokerage in just a few clicks using a secure Oauth 2 connection.
Although in many cases you will only have 1 main account, in other cases you may have more. For example, you may have several Individual Taxable accounts and a Roth IRA. All of your accounts with the brokerage will be brought in for convenience, allowing you to quickly deploy to any of them at any time.
We also have dedicated pages for each brokerage:
Now that you have your brokerage accounts securely connected, you can visit your algo and navigate to the “Go Live” tab.
Here you will see all of your accounts for all connected brokerages. Simply select the desired account you want to trade from and click “Go Live.”
That's it! Your algo will start making decisions as soon as possible.
What kind of orders are submitted to my brokerage?
All orders are market orders at this time.
Can the order expire?
Yes, orders have 5 minutes to fill. After this time, the order is canceled.
What happens if the order partially fills?
Your position will be updated to reflect the correct number of shares and will close normally.
What if I have preexisting positions in my account?
These positions are recorded as “unmanaged” positions and you can view them on your deployed algo.
Unmanaged positions are for viewing purposes only. These positions are never touched by Algo Pilot. You can only manage them from your brokerage directly.
What happens if I shut down my algo with positions still in it?
Your positions will remain active in your brokerage until you close them manually.
